United Learning Curriculum:

At Ennerdale CE Primary School, we follow the United Learning Curriculum, which reflects our Christian values of love, kindness, and wisdom. Rooted in high aspirations for every child, it provides a broad, balanced, and knowledge-rich education that nurtures academic excellence alongside personal and spiritual development. The curriculum is carefully sequenced to build knowledge and skills over time, promoting curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking. Through engaging lessons and meaningful experiences, pupils develop a deep understanding of the world around them while strengthening key learning habits such as resilience and reflection. Adapted thoughtfully for our mixed-age classes, the United Learning Curriculum ensures that every child is challenged, supported, and inspired. Our pupils leave Ennerdale as confident, capable, and compassionate learners, ready to thrive in the next stage of their education and beyond.

United Learning outline the rationale behind their curriculum design, but also provide the knowledge to be reviewed, knowledge to be explicitly taught and explains how knowledge will be built upon. They do this for each subject area, topic-by-topic . They also outline the disciplinary knowledge (not just what we know, but how we know) that the children will cover.
