Governing Body

In our Christian school community, the Governing Body plays a vital role in guiding and supporting the school in its mission to provide a high-quality education rooted in Christian values. Every school within the state system has a Governing Body, and ours works in close partnership with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that every child is nurtured to grow in wisdom, faith, and love.

The main purpose of our Governing Body is to help ensure that all pupils receive an excellent education in a safe, caring, and spiritually enriching environment.

The Governing Body has three key roles:

Strategic Direction

In the spirit of stewardship and service, the Governing Body helps set the overall vision and direction of the school. This includes prayerfully considering how the school can best develop and flourish. Governors review and approve policies, set priorities, and monitor progress — always seeking to uphold the Christian ethos that underpins our school life.

Critical Friend

Governors work closely with the Headteacher, offering encouragement and support while also providing constructive challenge. This relationship is built on mutual trust, respect, and a shared commitment to the wellbeing and success of every child. As critical friends, governors help the school grow stronger, ensuring that decisions are thoughtful, balanced, and aligned with our Christian values.

Accountability

As faithful stewards of the school community, the Governing Body is accountable to God, to parents, and to the wider community. Governors act with integrity and professionalism, using their collective gifts and skills to serve the best interests of the children. They listen, ask thoughtful questions, and always seek what is right and just for the school and all who are part of it.
